San Yin reads the entry 517, 50 cents in daily account slip for 12th June

Mak Cheung states:- I recognise the Indian Police Constable present as a constable to whom I paid bribes. I have paid him $1 a day for the two gambling houses in Wa Lane and Cheung Hing Street. I paid him $1 each day that he was on duty in the vicinity of the two gambling houses. I have paid him this year. I cannot remember the exact dates or the exact month. I have paid him previous to this year. I have paid him for the last 3 years. I paid him because he beat the watchmen and drove them away and drove the people who came to gambling away. My master told me to give him money. After I paid him money he did not drive the people away.

I. P. C. 517 Kala Singh states:- I deny receiving money. If he paid me money he should have got a receipt from me for it.

I. P. C. 601 Hushmat Ali present.
